Rein deceived me! He's a closet Believer, after all. He surprised me last night by appearing on my doorstep with a rose and some chocolate-flavored cookies....only to find I wasn't home! Worse, he had forgotten to bring the key I had given him. Poor one! So he had to spoil his own surprise by calling me up to ask me where I was....while waiting in his car outside! Waaaaaaaaaaaa.

Oh well.

Anyway, the story ends (or begins) with me rushing to Shang (where we had agreed to meet), and the surprise evening proceeded as planned. Dinner and a movie. Perfect date. Except that the movie was "Maritess & the Superfriends" by Rex Navarette and Dino Ignacio. Ha ha ha. I just had to show it to Rein. It is still the most hilarious thing ever created, in my book. And enough to neutralize the extreme mush of Valentine's Day.

As if! Haha.

I therefore conclude that there's absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating this day along with the multitudes who do (especially if it comes with flowers and food, hehe). And if its spent with those who are truly dear to you

PS. On my way home, Rein called to warn me that a bomb had exploded in a bus under the Ayala MRT station. Dark forces are at work in our midst again, folks. Let's please continue to pray for our country.
